Mrs. Monroe is a passionate and dedicated teacher at Westlane. From consistently offering tutoring sessions, to the energetic way she teachers her students, she cultivating a love of science for the younger generation. My daughter has been fortunate to have Mrs. Monroe in 6th grade and now for honors biology. She comes home and makes so many connections to the subjects she learning from invasive species to canines skulls. The way she can explain and teach us about what she is learning is beyond me! It is clear that the way Mrs.Monroe teaches sparks a ton engagement and the students are absorbing everything. My daughter often says, "I love Mrs. Monroe-she is such a good teacher!" Recently, my daughter has the pleasure of attending a study abroad with Mrs. Monroe in the Galápagos Islands. First, let me say, how incredible of a person you must be to take 66 individuals internationally for ten days! During this trip, Mrs. Monroe unlocked a renewed passion for the sciences and has my daughter contemplating a career in that field which is so cool! She also sparked a travel bug which we love too! She got to see a whole new part of the world and although we didn't go on the trip, we learned so much from her travels and rich experience. We are grateful for Mrs. Monroe's heart for students and her leadership! Westlane students, staff and community are better because of her! Thank you, Mrs. Monroe! The Waymans
