My teacher, Mr. Rubit, is awesome because he never gives up on any student and always finds a way to make learning feel important and connected to real life. He explains things clearly, but he also makes sure we understand why we’re learning it, not just how to get the right answer. He treats everyone with respect and makes our classroom feel like a safe place where we can be ourselves. He makes me excited to go to class by bringing a lot of energy and positivity every day. He uses fun activities, class discussions, and examples that relate to our lives, so the lessons don’t feel boring or random. Even on days when we’re tired or the work is hard, he keeps us engaged by encouraging us, cracking jokes, and showing that he genuinely loves teaching and being around his students. He shows that he cares about us by checking in on how we’re doing, not just with schoolwork, but also with what’s going on in our lives. If he notices someone is having a bad day, he’ll quietly ask if they’re okay or if they need help. He listens when we talk and never makes us feel dumb for asking questions. He’s patient when we struggle and celebrates our progress, even the small wins. He makes me a better and more confident student by always pushing me to do my best and believe in myself. Instead of just giving me the answers, he helps me think through problems and understand my mistakes so I can learn from them. He tells us that it’s okay to fail as long as we keep trying, and that mindset has helped me feel more confident raising my hand, participating in class, and not giving up when the work gets tough. He has supported me both inside and outside of the classroom. In class, he offers extra help, gives feedback on my work, and makes sure I have what I need to succeed. Outside of class, he shows up to school events, encourages us to join activities, and reminds us to take care of ourselves, not just our grades. Knowing that he believes in me and cares about me as a person, not just as a student, has made a huge difference in my school experience.
