I would like to nominate Mrs. Gidney for her incredible impact this From the classroom to outside of school, her personality lights up the room. She leads with patience, kindness, and an unwavering positivity that creates a safe and joyful learning environment for her students. Kindergarten is such a monumental step, and I truly could not have asked for a better teacher to support Grey in his transition into “big school.” Because of her, he has not only learned so much academically but he has also grown tremendously in his confidence and belief in himself. What makes her impact even more meaningful is the power of representation. Representation matters, and having a teacher who looks like him—someone who reflects his identity, including his hair and features, has been vital to his self-acceptance and confidence. That connection is something that cannot be overstated, and it has played an important role in his growth this year. I am beyond grateful for the love, care, and dedication she pours into her students every single day. She is truly making a lasting difference.
