ANDREW WIGGINS
NORTH CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL

STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY

Before the start of this semester I had met Mr. Wiggins once in passing. The semester I gained him as a teacher. Everyday he stands outside the door and gives fist bumps to all of his students. He does its every time we walk into the classroom and every time we exit. Every day I look forward to turning the corner to see him. I didn't know how much I liked the fist bumps until the first day he was absent. He makes it his mission to give fist bumps and say hello to everyone and sometimes ask how they are doing. It is a little check in that I like to have. Earlier this month I asked Mr.Wiggins if I could stay in his classroom for lunch. He said yes and we started to have a conversation. Me staying for lunch has now become daily. Mr.Wiggins and I have great conversations and that 30 minute period is what makes me excited to be at school. He has become a school dad to me. We talk about flag football and how that is going for me, we talk about colleges and talk about what looks like the best option. We talk about events that are happening in my life. Mr. Wiggins mainly listens to me talk since I do tend to talk a lot. But that time is what encourages me to come to school every day. He is a big support for me and I am so happy to have him as my teacher.
