Congratulations to
Life-Changing Teaching Award Nominee
ANDREW HODSON
NORTH CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL

STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY

Mr. Hodson is the IB coordinator at my school, and he taught me IB anthropology last year. As a teacher, his love for teaching and his love for all of the subjects I have learned from him shines through every day. As an IB candidate at North Central, I have a large and difficult workload. Mr. Hodson's constant support and appreciation that he shows us gives me the emotional and educational support I need to keep up with the intense workload. During the Theory of Kowledge class that I take from him, we discussed philosophical topics and ideas. These ideas interested me, and when I talked to Mr. Hodson about it, he helped by sponsoring my philosophy Club which meets every Thursday we are free. Mr. Hodson sees me as an individual, and when I'm learning from him I feel seen and appreciated. When I applied to schools outside of the US, it was Mr. Hodson that wrote my reccomendation letter and who helped me through the process. He has shown me the joy that can be found in learning for it's own sake, and I could think of no teacher who could better deserve an acknowledgement for his amazing work than Mr. Hodson.
