My daughter Bumma couldn’t have asked for a better kindergarten experience, and it is all thanks to her incredible teacher, Ms. Atteberry. From the very first day of school, Bulma was extremely nervous and unsure about starting this new chapter. However, it didn’t take long for that nervousness to turn into excitement. She quickly fell in love with going to school every day, and I truly believe that transformation was because of the warmth, kindness, and care that Ms. Atteberry showed her from the start. As a parent, there is nothing more comforting than knowing your child is in the hands of someone who genuinely cares about them. Ms. Atteberry created such a nurturing and welcoming classroom environment that made Bulma feel safe, supported, and encouraged to grow. I was fortunate enough to witness her kindness firsthand when I had the opportunity to help chaperone a class field trip. Seeing the way she interacted with the children confirmed everything I had already felt — she treats every student with patience, gentleness, and genuine love. What truly stood out to me throughout the year was the way Ms. Atteberry went above and beyond to keep parents involved in their children’s journey. She regularly shared thoughtful updates about Bulma’s progress and even sent sweet little notes that meant so much to me as a parent. She took the time to share photos and videos of classroom moments and milestones, allowing us to feel connected to what our children were experiencing during the school day. Her creativity and dedication made those moments so special for both the students and their families. Ms. Atteberry also has such a special gift for making learning memorable and meaningful. One moment that truly touched my heart was the thoughtful and creative graduation gift she prepared for the students. She created an adorable pizza box filled with “slices” that represented each child’s achievements and milestones throughout the year. It was such a unique and heartfelt way to celebrate their growth, and it is something I will treasure forever. Growing up, I remember truly loving my own preschool teacher and the way she made me feel warm inside and important. Even now, I still remember her and the positive impact she had on me as a young child. Seeing the connection Bulma had with Ms. Atteberry reminds me so much of that experience, and I know Bulma will carry those same warm memories of her kindergarten teacher for years to come. Teachers like Ms. Atteberry leave a lasting impact on their students and their families. She didn’t just teach academics — she built confidence, created joyful memories, and helped shape a love for learning that will stay with these children for years to come. I am incredibly grateful that Bulma had the opportunity to have such a AMAZING and dedicated teacher during such an important year of her life. If I could, I would wish for Bulma to have Ms. Atteberry as her teacher again and AGAIN! She truly made kindergarten a magical experience, and we will miss her dearly. She deserves to be recognized for the incredible difference she makes in the lives of her students and their families.
