This 8th grade math teacher is awesome because they make the subject of math less scary and easier to understand. They explain the concepts in a way that actually makes sense, and they are always willing to go over the problem again if the student is confused. They give examples that students can relate to, and sometimes they even make the class fun, which makes me look forward to coming to the class. This teacher shows that they care about the students in the classroom. They are patient and supportive, checking on students that are having trouble and making sure that the student knows that it is okay to ask questions. They encourage all students to do their best, and they remind everyone that making mistakes is all part of the learning process. It is obvious that they want all students to succeed, not just the ones that already have a handle on the subject of math. This teacher has helped me to become a better student by encouraging me to believe in myself. They celebrate effort, not just achievement, and give feedback that helps the student to see how to improve. Because of this teacher, I feel comfortable participating
