Mr. Gump is awesome because he does lots of fun things in class and is an engaging teacher. When I was in his seventh grade social studies class, he found ways to make sure everyone in my class, including me, was engaged in what he was teaching and had a part in it. We did fun group projects that everyone had a job in and taught us things in creative ways. We learned about the global economy through a game where we traded resources and dealt with fluctuating prices, and it became one of the most fun things I've ever done in school (and I'm sure many others agree with me). He also talked to me about things that were completely unrelated to school, like football (he's a Steelers fan, the only thing I dislike about him), Star Wars, video games, and more. He made me feel safe and included at school, which I appreciate even now. This is why I nominate Mr. Gump. 🙂
