Mr. Mason is a special needs teacher at John F. Miller school. As Stone's parents we are grateful and feel that Mr. Mason is absolutely an outstanding teacher. He truly gets to know his students' likes and dislikes and works to help each student individually. He is over the top when when it comes to getting to know Stone's needs, desires, and frustrations while implementing his IEP. He makes it fun for Stone to reach his goals. Stone knows that Adrian cares about him and because of that Stone trusts and loves Mr Adrian. Stone looks forward to going to school when we explain that Mr. Marson will be there when Stone gets off the Bus each day. Stone can become over stimulated especially during transitions. Mr. Mason goes out of his way to ensure that he does not get overstimulated and is great at quickly getting him to deescalate on those rare occasions that Stone does get to stimulated by moving Stone away from the noise, active or whatever it maybe that is bothering Stone. Mr. Mason speaks slowly and calmly and by using those things that directly connect to Stone. He uses calming words and rewards that he knows will be meaningful to Stone. Mr. Mason has even gotten to know our family and talks to Stone about his sisters and brothers-in-laws and Stone loves that. He also makes an effort to talk to Stone about the highlights of his weekend that helps him both engage and be happy. This is Stone's last year in school and it has been an abolutely joyful ending for him. We wish we could have Stone be in Mr.Mason's class many more years. Our whole family loves Mr. Mason. Stone's Sister Belle Buyan who is also a special education teacher adds that Mr. Adrian has been an incredible teacher for Stone, and our family is truly grateful for everything he does for Stone. From the moment you walk into Mr. Adian's classroom, you can feel his amazing energy. He is welcoming, engaging, and creates an envirnoment where students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. Mr. Adrian is extremely patient with Stone and has a special gift for knowing how to reach him and communicate with him in a way that works. He genuinely builds rapport and real relationships with Stone, and it is clear that he truly cares about him as an indivvidual - not just as a student. Because of Mr. Adian, Stone feels loved, understood and happy at school. Mr. Adrian also goes above and beyond by coming up with interactive and creative activities that help foster Stone's learning and growth. One of the things we appreciate most is Mr. Adrian's strong communication with our family. He keeps us informed, involued, and resassured, and it mean so much to know that Stone is in such caring and capable hands. Mr. Adrian is truly an outstanding teacher, and we feel very lucky that Stone gets to learn from someone who is so dedicated, kind, and impactful. Stone is definitely ending he educational career with a BANG! Thank you!
