Congratulations to
Life-Changing Teaching Award Nominee

STUDENT RECOGNITION STORY

Something that makes Mr. Gump awesome is his ability to always show sympathy even when some people don't even desereve it. Before I met Mr. Gump I despised social studies and when I soon enough met him the first thing he said was "If you don't like social studies now, I promise you will by the end of the year" while putting his hand over his heart. That man did not lie, social studies is now one of my strongest and favorite subjects. He also tells us really corny dad jokes that are only funny when he says it. Mr. Gump is always able to immediatly tell when a student is upset. A student doesn't have to walk around with their head hanging low in order for Mr. Gump to know they are upset. Someone could have the biggest smile on their face yet Mr. Gump will still ask "are you okay". Mr. Gump is the first person I think of when I want to talk. I know that might sound crazy but its true. Mr. Gump is the most genuine person I have ever met in my life. I like how Mr. Gump reassures me that I'm not just worth something but I'm worth everything. I feel supported by Mr. Gump just existing. He has already done a lot of things for me and showed me his worth. He has been more of a dad to me than my own dad and I haven't talked to my dad since I was three. Im thirteen going on fourteen. Mr Gump is a great teacher, great husband, and a great role model. He's so worthy that even the rats of New York look up to him. It is hard to believe that my mental health was able to get fixed by one singular person. When I grow up I will have a pure heart just like Mr. Gumps and I wouldn't have it any other way. I wish absolutely nothing but happiness to that Italian man.
